Search Engine Stop Words

Search Engine Stop Words

When performing a search in a search engine like Google or Yahoo, some of the search terms are ignored and the search engine also warns you about this. Why? Because those terms are known to be irelevant to the search, even if they are very often used in the search. These words are known as stop words. The stop words are also ignored when used in Meta tags (Title, Description and Keyword).

Some of SEO tools are using these stop words to clear the text of analized pages before evaluation of the page is done. Below are the list of stop words:

Tips to avoid the google sandbox

Tips to avoid the google sandbox:
  • Build for a tight niche within a broad category
  • Only get relevant backlinks
  • Avoid being associated with bad neighborhoods - even 2 or 3 clicks away!
  • Only put your site in relevant directories that have standards for inclusion
  • Keep your site on-topic until it is firmly established
  • Go slow when expanding into new content areas

Things that will trip the google sandbox:

  • Jumping off-topic. This is difficult to determine sometimes because "off topic" isn't just out of your industry but is within your broad category. A site dedicated to [yellow widgets] that suddenly posts content about [blue widgets] might take a hit.
  • Irrelevant Backlinks. These confuse Google. Google *thinks* it knows where the site should appear (hence the placement with the allin: commands) but isn't sure.
  • General Backlinks. These don't do anything for your rank anyway, may confuse Google, and are often within 3 clicks of a bad neighborhood.
  • Linking too close to untrusted sites.

10 Important Tips for a fast loading web site

10 Important Tips for a fast loading web site

Introduction
It is important to have a reasonably fast loading web site so that viewers are not made to wait for a long time and to accommodate users on slow internet connections. Search engine algorithms also do take into consideration your load time.
Follow these tips while designing and developing your site:

Optimize your HTML code: Make sure that your site doesn't have any unwanted tags and that it is optimized.

Effective Table designing: Design using nested tables instead of using cell merges and splits. Use separate tables where ever possible. Not designing for 100% height is better as if you use just one outer table, the web page is displayed only after the table is loaded fully. If many outer tables are present [you can have different tables for the header, content, footer, etc.] the page displays the content of each table as soon as its elements are loaded.
Maximize content area: This not only reduces load time, it enhances the readability of your site.
Minimize use of graphics, Flash, scripts: These are the major contributors to the size of your web page, so try minimizing them. Try using background colors and fills instead of heavy images.
Optimize all heavy files: As much as possible optimize heavy graphics, Flash files and scripts. In editors like fireworks and flash you can see the various options in the preview panel to reduce the sizes. See how popular web sites like google and yahoo have pages that are very small in size and thus load in seconds.
Stick to simple designs: Most fast loading sites have very simple designs. Take the hint! Complicated designs will slow down your pages. Spread out your content: In case you find yourself having very long pages of content, break them down into separate sections and thus bring down the sizes of the individual pages.
Use Text Links instead of graphic buttons: basically try to make use of HTML as much as possible. Use CSS Styles for text links to make them as attractive as buttons. Read our CSS Styles tutorial.
Use Server Side Include (SSI) files where ever possible. SSI files once called from the web server reside in its cache so on subsequent requests they load faster.
Using Layers instead of tables is a new concept for better load time. We will be bringing out an article on it soon. Check your Load time.
Do remember to check your Load time regularly. Use free site tools available on the internet (example: netmechanic.com) to check your site load time.

GEO Targeting and Mapping

GEO Targeting, GEO Mapping, GEO Target, Geographically Targeting

Net is distribution not like an overflow in smooth; it is thinning out like I have no terms to shout. There are more than 400 million non-English vocalizations Internet users and almost partially of all Internet users exist in Asia and Europe (this nature will raise to 87% by 2006, when there will be roughly a billion community online). Asian marketplace is one of the main markets of online dealing promotions. The 87% of Asian enterprisers work for Europe and US. Travel, Finance, Real Estate and other industries are the leading online industries. If I take the example of one of my signature industry then this industry has no boundaries. The spreading traffic may hell for you. If you are getting 1000 to 2000 visitors daily but not from the target market then that is valueless or you. GEO targeting is the finest technique to run the traffic and improve the online sales.

What is GEO Targeting?
GEO targeting is a geographical forward; it is a trouble-free way to redirect the traffic, suppose if you have any multilingual site. Instead of having your visitors to go to the main site and click the language they want, you should have to GEO Target to directly send visitors to the desired language version from where the user is. Basically in GEO targeting the software picks the request IP and checks the country location and then passes the pages to display. Geo targeted ad placements allow us to take an existing, fairly standardized product / concept and market it to distinct geographic and literary markets. Every geographic area is fundamentally a niche market that can be under attack. So if you have multilingual visitors then always use GEO targeting.

10 Quick Things - Improve Your Search Ranking

10 Quick Things You Can do Today to Improve Your Search Ranking

By Matt DeAngelis

You know all that extra time you have to work on Search Engine Optimization? [A little sarcasm there] Actually, I tried to put together a list of quick things you can do that will help you move a little higher in your Google or Yahoo results.

1. Get listed in more search engines. There are tons of them out there. There are also many free services that will help you get listed. Or just set aside some time to get it done yourself. Here is a free search engine submission site that will let you cycle through the top 100 search engines and get your site submitted.

2. Get listed in more directories. Again, there are a lot of them out there. Look for higher pagerank directories. Improvingrank.com has some listed by pagerank. Look on the left side of the homepage.

3. Clean up your html and check your links. You want the bots to have smooth sailing through your site. Use the tools on W3c.org and have a real person check them over too.

4. Get a few more links to your site. Make them relevant and at least the same pagerank as you.

5. Make your page filenames descriptive and keyword rich. Naming your page new_page_1.html is wasting an opportunity to do some SEO. Use names that describe the content and keep the keywords flowing.

6. Check your Title tags. You can use 90 - 100 characters in the title, so add some keywords. We know Google looks at them, and so do many more search engines.

7. Check your ALT tags. Searchbots can’t see pictures. Make sure you have ALT tags on all of your pictures, and make sure they are descriptive and keyword rich.

8. Rewrite your URL (anchor) tags. Good anchor tags (the text between the http: and /a tags) reinforce the message and key words of your site.

9. Go post in a few forums and put your website in your signature. Forums are a great place to put one way links. And you can help somebody out at the same time.

10. Put together a text based sitemap and put it on your site. There’s a lot of navigation that spiders can’t understand, such as flash, forms, java and javascript. Putting together a text-based sitemap gives the bots a way to navigate around the site.

Fifteen minutes every couple of days will make a huge difference in getting your rank higher.

Why SEO is Important to your Future

Why Search Engine Optimization Is Important To Your Future

By Ivan Kelly

Building your website with search engine appeal - or search engine optimization - is more art than science but experience has shown that there are some very useful guidelines. The question is, why bother? With effective optimization you'll attract free website traffic that the search engines will send you. Free traffic goes a long way towards not only making your site income-generating but, hopefully, profit-generating as well.

With search engine optimization you might even receive a high traffic volume. Let’s just say you have a conversion to successful sales with 5 to 10 percent of your traffic. If you get a hundred hits or more a day, you get a good number of sales already. If you get only twenty or so hits a day, you only get one or two sales if any at all. Higher traffic, especially if it's free, means potentially higher revenue.

Search engine optimization involves a variety of methods for making your site appealing to the search engines, such as having relevant keywords, title and content. It also helps to have other similar sites linking to yours. The aim is to have your site listed in the search engine results and apearing in, preferably, the first two or three pages. The higher the better. This will ensure that your site is displayed in answer to public inquiries as being possibly relevant. In turn, this increases public awareness and directs more traffic to your site - traffic that could lead to potential sales, revenue and profit.

There are many locations on the internet that can help you improve search engine optimization, including those that help in tracking keyword phrases. For instance, the free Yahoo/Overture Suggestion Tool, as well as many commercial keyword analyzers. There are also some content writers and article directories that can provide suitable keyword-laden content for you.

However, most people performing a search examine only the ten top results, which are on the first page. Those entries further down the list languish, with little attention. So making it to the top three pages is a barometer of a site's success in search engine optimization as you will get more people clicking through to your site when you have a higher ranking on these pages. And, as mentioned, more traffic means more business for you.

As you might have guessed, search engine optimization may require a fair bit of work to be fully realized. For instance, researching the keyword phrases that are popular for your niche or theme.

You may also need to rewrite your site's contents so that you get the right keyword phrases in your site without making it too awkward to read. There are useful guidelines that can be followed to assist with this.

Also consider collaborating with other web sites to obtain link exchanges and page transfers. Having inbound links definitely increases search engine appeal. Possibly the best way of gaining these is to write quality articles on the subject of your website and submit them to article directories for others to use. This generates desirable one-way links from those who post your articles on their websites, and they have usually selected your article because of its relevance!

When you need help just search the internet. Tips, guidelines and methods for search engine optimization are abundant and easily found. There are also many articles freely available that can help you optimize your website. Just posing the question on Google or inquiring at your favorite article directory will quickly locate some of these. The more informed you are the better. But resist the temptation to buy ebooks when so much free information is available.

This all helps in getting those high rankings. It may require a little time and effort but the benefits can be astounding.

E-commerce is a cut throat business. You have to arm yourself with the knowledge and tools needed to make your site a cut above the rest. Each day, more and more sites clamber for higher rankings and, if you get careless, you may just get trampled and be left in cyber dust.

In recent years, and in the foreseeable future, search engines have been the most widely used internet sources of information. Use them well and prosper. However, even with effective optimization in place, don't just rest on your laurels; it is a continuing process. Check your ranking from time to time and also have a good look at what the top sites for a keyword are doing. Why do they have a higher ranking? What do you have to do to secure the top spot? Each day is a new day for all e-commerce sites or, as Scarlet O'Hara said: "Tomorrow is another day!"

SEO Articles

Commented by Senthil

I did bunch of SEO job for special manner and categories, but I was extremely cheerful some projects, for the reason that I did not anticipate that a good deal of effect, its come up to pretty good, so I would like to reveal some thoughts of my SEO effort.

I did real estate project, that individual I start Dec25th 2005 and I worked every day for build links and worn google sitemap, later than one month I was surprised, because its got peak arrangement for all search engines. In establishment of April 2006, I was stunned for a second time because that site will get above 1000 visitors day by day. I am not using whichever of the black hat techniques, just I followed organic SEO merely, and I was awfully joyful that moment as the site can get Google Page Rank 3 for every one of pages. I reached the excellent position for all search engines together with Google. Every keywords and Key phrases are in pinnacle place.

Nowadays, the real estate client got happy as well as they valued my work. Presently, they got more number of clients. The organic SEO is added commanding but its time expenditure procedure, but it will get slowly but surely a top place for every search engines, and it will preserve zenith place for in excess of months or else years.

SEO Strategy

What is Search Engine Optimization?

Search engine optimization, or SEO, is quite simply the technique of making your site appear more relevant and more prominent than any other in its field.

Every hour of every day the major search engines scour the web, cataloguing its content and ranking that content in order of relevance. Search engine optimization harnesses this by activity by predicting and analyzing words and phrases that your customers are most likely to enter as search terms in engines such as Google.

These search optimization terms are then built seamlessly into the fabric of your site in positions that search engines are most likely to favor.

A search engine is far from a simple directory, and so making sure that your site achieves a high Search Engine ranking is not a simple task. Furthermore, as all search engines -from Google to MSN and from Yahoo to AltaVista - rank and select sites in different ways it is vital that any Search Engine Optimization Company understands the mechanics of the process.

And Search Engine Optimization cannot be considered in isolation. For whist the engines may find the site initially, your customers must still find it appealing, intelligible and attractive.

It would be easy to pack each page with the words that a Search Engine seeks, but chances are that the result would be almost unreadable.

And after all, people purchase, not search engines.

The importance of SEO

Why does my company website need SEO?

The major commercial search engines – Google, Yahoo & MSN drive the majority of web traffic! (Although AOL gets nearly 10% of searches, their engine is powered by Google's results).

If your site cannot be found by search engines or your content cannot be put into their databases, you miss out on the incredible opportunities available to websites provided via search - people who want what you have visiting your site.
Online search is the most widely used method of attracting qualified visitors to your Web site. According to Jupiter Research, 82% of online shoppers know exactly what they want when they log onto the Internet and almost half of them use search engines to find solutions and vendors.

With research confirming that the vast majority of searches end within the first two pages of results, prominent placement on the Internet's major search engines through effective search engine optimization is of critical importance.

SENTHIL's natural search optimization services are designed to get your Website noticed when potential buyers are looking for the products and services you have to offer.

We achieve this by targeting the Internet's major search properties in order to drive self-qualified prospects to your site - the specific audiences that are looking for your products and/or services.

Search Engine Visibility

Why can't the search engines figure out my site without SEO help?

Search engines are always working towards improving their technology to crawl the web more deeply and return increasingly relevant results to users. However, there is and will always be a limit to how search engines can operate. Whereas the right moves can net you thousands of visitors and attention, the wrong moves can hide or bury your site deep in the search results where visibility is minimal.

In addition to making content available to search engines, SEO can also help boost rankings, so that content that has been found will be placed where searchers will more readily see it. The online environment is becoming increasingly competitive and those companies who perform SEO will have a decided advantage in visitors and customers.

SENTHIL's SEO Strategy

What we do!

The process begins with the effective selection of the basic building blocks for your natural search optimization campaign... your keywords.

Search Engine Optimization Step 1 - Keyword Analysis

Knowing what words and phrases people use to search the Web is an essential component of any well-executed search engine positioning campaign.

The keyword analysis and selection phase of our search engine positioning process identifies the proper keywords to target ensuring that the most qualified users will find the specific pages within your site that are relevant to their search query.

Search Engine Optimization Step 2 - Competitive Analysis

The competitive analysis phase of the search engine optimization process will help you size up your competition and provide you with the tools necessary to achieve and maintain your rightful position at the top of the search engines.

After establishing the most effective keywords for your Website, SENTHIL will prepare a comprehensive competitive analysis and baseline report showing you exactly where you stand relative to your competitors for these keywords.

This phase of the search engine optimization process will yield the foundational data necessary to achieve the competitive advantages needed to outperform your competitors on the search engines and gain valuable market share.

Search Engine Optimization Step 3 - Content Enhancement

Once effective keywords have been agreed upon, and a strategy has been formulated for outperforming competitors, SENTHIL will perform the content enhancement phase of the search engine optimization process.

As the title implies, content enhancement involves the modification of Website content. During this phase of the process, SENTHIL will make recommendations to manipulate the current placement of existing content, add new content, or even remove existing content in certain circumstances.

Since the end goal of the search engine optimization process is to achieve prominent placement for the right keywords, rather than tricking the search engines into listing your pages, we will need to ensure that the appropriate keywords are incorporated into your site in an appropriate manner.

Simply including these keywords into your content is not enough. SENTHIL has years of experience in constructing site content in a search engine friendly format.

SENTHIL will also work with your Website editors so that future content (press releases, new products, etc.) will remain synergistic with your newly optimized content.

Search Engine Optimization Step 4 - Code Enhancement

Effective copy writing is only part of the battle when it comes to making your Website search engine friendly. Regardless of how complex search engines seem, they are not yet complex enough to read all content that the web browsers display. While flash, Java script, DHTML, and framing technologies may look great to the end user, they can stop a search engine spider dead in its tracks and prohibit your Website from being crawled effectively.

Even if your site has been programmed in pure, easy to read HTML, you may not be presenting the spider with the appropriate information. Title, H1, and Meta tags are all important elements in effective code writing. Search engines rely on specific code to determine the content within a Web page.

Database-driven Websites present yet another obstacle for search engine spiders. Without proper search engine optimization, much of your site may be unreadable to search engines. This can have a significant adverse impact on your sites ability to generate search engine traffic.

SENTHIL has years of experience in making your code work with your content rather than against it.

Search Engine Optimization Step 5 - Link Enhancement

Once the content contained within your site is geared towards the appropriate keywords and search engine spiders can effectively navigate your site, the search engines will attempt to determine the relative importance of your site. Your site may contain information about a subject, but how qualified is your site to talk about it?

Relevancy based search engines use linking to determine the relative credibility of one site versus another with respect to subject matter. You may have heard the terms "Link Popularity" and "Page Rank" through search engine optimization research. These terms refer to the existence of external links from sites that link to yours. These links can have a substantial impact on your ability to achieve and maintain prominent positioning for the keywords you covet.

SENTHIL works with you to help increase the number, quality and manner in which external sites are linked to your Website. SENTHIL works with you to identify relevant sources for links, where they should direct traffic to, and how they link.

Search Engine Optimization Step 6 - Code Implementation

Once the content, code, and link enhancement processes have been completed, the net step in the search engine optimization process is implementation. SENTHIL offers varying levels of implementation to address the individual needs of our clients.

We can implement search engine optimization by preparing a deliverable that contains a hard copy document and a custom tailored CD with all the code the client needs to make changes. This process enables your Web team to simply paste the optimized code from the CD into your current pages.

Depending on level of access, SENTHIL can also implement search engine optimization by accessing your Web servers and uploading the coded pages.

We also offer the option of having one of our search engine optimization consultant’s implements the optimized code on your premises. If the client chooses this option, a SENTHIL search engine optimization consultant will travel to your facility, implement code changes, and work with your Web team to train them on the fine points of updating content.

SENTHIL's search engine optimization consultants have years of experience in working with content management systems as well as shopping cart systems that can be the source of issues related to changes in content.

Search Engine Optimization Step 7 - Web Page and Directory Submission

The final step in the search engine optimization process is to make sure that each of the newly optimized pages is included in the indexes of all the relevant search engines. SENTHIL manually submits all pages into search engines and directories.

Directory submission requires both effective copy writing and a comprehensive understanding of the search engines. SENTHIL ensures that your directory submissions are in compliance with the directory's technical parameters and ensures that the client's listings are as keyword rich and relevant as possible. Proper directory submission is critical for search engine success.

Additional Steps for Search Engine Placement

The 7 steps outlined above represent the core components of an effective search engine optimization process. SENTHIL sets itself apart by the quality in which we perform these tasks.
